Along the evocative loggia, nine museum spaces recreate Sicilian life in the early 1900s: the artisan workshops of the Sculptor, the Blacksmith, the Siddunaru, and the Painter; the Puppet Theater; the Putìa del Vino (Wine Market) with its local aromas and flavors; the Art Nouveau lounge of the Casa del Viaggiatore (Traveler's House); the School; and a traditional Emporium.
The tour winds through the workshops of the Antico Mercato, the beating heart of social and commercial life in the past, each with a story to tell and a craft to showcase. Participants will discover the legacy of ancient knowledge: through stories, practical demonstrations, and the use of period tools, they will come into contact with a human and artisanal heritage that is at risk of disappearing, yet which lives on here, amid the scents, colors, and sounds of tradition.
